How We Begin
Hira was established as a sole proprietorship in November 2010 and was started at an office in Jurong but moved to Blk 807 Yishun Ring Road #01-4201 S(760807) in May 2011 in a center which has offices and three classrooms which can fit 15 students each.
Hira was set up by Ustaz Rasman Bin Saridin and Ustaz Ismail Abdullah
Individual Behind Hira
The missionaries behind Hira are two special human beings who had ever fallen into the trap of drugs and crime. The founders, Ustaz Rasman Saridin, 45, and Ustaz Ismail Abdullah, 55 had been in and out of drug rehabilitation centers and prisons. Their bitter experience is a lesson for them to return to the straight path until they are called ustaz or accredited religious teachers They are the main teaching staff at Hira and lead the organization which is still in the early stages with energy and dedication.
Ustaz Rasman Saridin, 45, is one of the founder of Hira Society, had been in and out of drug rehabilitation centers and prisons. His bitter experience is a lesson for him to return to the straight path and strengthen his Islamic studies. He graduated with a Degree in Islamic Education Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang 2000-2005 and also with a Master in Islamic Education Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang 2011-2013. He is the main leader and mentor in Hira Society
Through in depth religious studies and guidance from Allah, he decides to guide ex drug addicts and their families to build them into righteous individuals who understand their moral obligations and relationship with other human beings and society, and gently lead them back to the straight path.
To make them useful and easily blend into the society, he organizes a variety of classes for this purpose, such as information technology and life skill courses.
He also conduct spiritual, educational and recreational tours regularly to the Middle East and Asia.

Hira is a body or entity that was established for the development of social and moral education especially those whose family members are involved in drugs or crime. The way to approach this group is through the method and wisdom of the contemporary science and psychology in developing a well educated and successful community.

Our Main Focused Area
Teduhan Kasih Hira Society – TKHS
As many as 45 ex-drug offenders have followed our programs so far. Our accomplishment for this project is to help ex-offenders stay drug-free, out of trouble, by providing support, training, counseling and mentoring to as many we can reach. They are given the needed support and platforms.
The proposed program, “Main Pillar of the Program Therapeutic Community“, will establish a standardized procedure of:
- Family Milieu Concept
- Peer Pressure (Therapeutic Community Tools)
- Therapeutic Session
- Religious Session
- Role Modelling
Four category structure program:
- Tools of the House (Anger/Behaviour Management & Shaping)
- Emotional & Psychological
- Intellectual & Spiritual Development
- Vocational & Survival
These core strategies continue to be key elements of the programs at Teduhan Kasih Hira Society.
Moral education at Hira is focused more on the subject of the humanity and society. Complementary classes are opened to all the beneficiaries’ children. Aside from that, Hira is providing free school tuition, IT and computer courses for the unfortunate drug-addict families. What most important is to enliven the spirit of the students and to enlighten them with a glimpse of hope. Education is very important as it will help to reduce social illness and poverty.
Hira was established by 2 former drug addicts who aim to uplift the lives of former drug addicts, drug addicts and their families. The two founders and leaders of Hira, are qualified teachers wants to ‘start a social caring center’ for this unfortunate marginalized segment of the community. This can be done by training a core group of befrienders ‘Hira Helpmates’ who will help assist the morally wayward to a righteous path and establish themselves in their families and jobs. It is a focus in its general mission to uplift the moral and professional status of individuals.
Hira will strive to enrich and strengthen the social institutions through courses, workshops, lectures, exhibitions, publications and whatever means to be the model community.
Hira provides a wide range of educational and social services. Its core education program is to build righteous individuals who understand their moral and obligations and relationship with other human beings and society. There are variety of classes for this purpose. Classes are also held to provide training in information technology, recreational and professional courses. We also welcome back former drug addicts and counsel and mentor their families to lead them back to the straight path. We conduct spiritual, educational and recreational tours to the Middle East and Asia.

Although HIRA might be a new entity or body, our determination and past activities have proven the effectiveness and efficiency that we can deliver in the name of charity. Hence we hope to receive your kind consideration and support that will be used to assist many more beneficiaries.
Hira recruits and trains volunteers whose task is to attach themselves to families of drug addicts and ex-drug addicts and befriend them in their road to integration into society and to achieve success. Known as Hira Helpmates, they will be trained by those who have been working closely with this group. Hira Helpmates will be at hand to welcome those who are newly released from detention and form a safety net for them and their families.
Our Result Oriented Projects includes, information technology and life skill courses that will guide ex drug addicts to build into righteous individuals who understand their moral obligations and relationship with other human beings and society. These courses will make them useful and easily blend into the society
Hira Society is run by qualified teachers accredited by the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore (MUIS). Ustaz Rasman Saridin and his team of professional volunteers, are sincerely and enthusiastically inclined to help former drug addicts and convicts, to turned their lives around and get back to the straight path.
Our Techniques of Approach includes lifetime consultations, counselling, spiritual guidance, and mentorship on all aspects of life.
